Suza Schiele holds a MA (Hons) 2003 from Elam, School of Fine Arts, The University of Auckland, New Zealand and a Diploma in Interior Architecture from the Blocherer Schule Munich, Germany.

Born in Germany, she grew up in Turkey where her parents were employed by the German Institute of Archaeology. After years of working in Europe she immigrated to New Zealand in 1990, where she spent years working as a designer and teacher while developing her art practice. Her experience living in diverse cultures together with her life-long idiosyncratic quest on ‘life and existence in the micro-macrocosm’ informs her creations.
