Top-Secret
April 9th, 2012
Yes! So far this year has been an extremely creative and fantastic-ly exciting one for me. I am still flat out working on a new body of work: drawings, a huge oil on canvas painting 6.80 m x 1.70 m (!), a series of smaller canvases as well as mini and soft sculptures. Sorry can’t show you yet it’s a secret until my next exhibition. But here you see me with a new sculpture experiment outside my studio door in Devonport:

Back home and straight into the workshop up North doing finishing touches to the Zeltsitzes for the installation at SCULPTURES in the GARDENS at the Auckland Botanic Gardens which opens 9 October… It’s so great to be back in New Zealand, spring is full on and I am so happy to be working again!
Bangkok
September 25th, 2011
My last destination on my way back to New Zealand. Felt like skipping the art galleries. Instead moved through the city, river and canals soaking up everything. It’s such an interesting bubbly place so exotic and foreign to me … Met new people, discovered new places, took hundreds of photos… I have been sooo lucky 3 month on the road! So much inspiration and new energy. I am ready now to go back to my studio…
Venezia
September 19th, 2011
Never have I been happier in Venice! Everything is perfect: Being here with my mates from Lgop in an amazing spacious apartment with a magic garden right on Rio della Sensa, wandering through the familiar narrow passages in wonderful warm weather, the balmy night rides on the canals in Massimo’s boat and of course checking out IlluminNATIONS. It’s an interesting Biennale, yes an illuminating experience in every way…
Barcelona
September 9th, 2011
Barcelona is hoooooot in every sense… Best way to experience it? On bike of course! I so love this lively colourful city, the people, the food, the parties, the balmy nights in narrow streets, the AMAZING architecture with centuries of history, crazy Gaudi, playful Miro, Picasso, the absolutely incredible Romanesques frescoes in the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunga, the parks and piazzas and of course the beach!!!! Uh I want to live here…!
Berlin
August 22nd, 2011
Berlin was fantastic!!! I stayed with my dear friend Ria. It was a week of museums and galleries during the day time and checking out bar’s and discos at nite. My favourite gallery? Always the Hamburger Bahnhof! Niteclub? Claerchens Ballhaus zum shwoofen of course! Highlight? My Happy Hat Happening in perfect sunshine at the Brandenburger Tor where 100 of people took part…
Paris

Paris is fantastic it is one of my favorite cities! Catching up on art and culture big time a treat! Revisiting antiquity in the Louvre is refreshing memories from my childhood in Istanbul – it is deeply moving. Examining centuries of paintings close up is an inspiration and watching masses of people looking at the world’s most famous artworks through their phone-cameras and posing in front of the works ‘facebook’ style an eye opener…
